Yesterday, 27th of April, 2026, I, Akinkunle Akintan Akinbinu, officially dissociated myself from the presidential aspirant of the @AAC party, Comrade Omoyele Sowore
I am making this final decision after watching his conversation with Abubakar Malami, SAN at the court premises today. That moment fully revealed a lot to me about the kind of person he is. At this point, I honestly do not see much difference between him and the same people he constantly criticizes.
What is the difference between him and APC if someone like Malami can suddenly become a “victim of the system” according to him, simply because he is now useful to a political narrative? Does it mean that if Malami agrees to join the Revolution Now movement, all his alleged sins are forgiven? Is that not the same political laundering APC has been doing for years?
Someone facing corruption charges, with the system is now being described as a victim of that same system. How exactly is he a victim? This is the same card Sowore played during the Verydarkblackman versus Blord issue.
The truth is becoming clearer, maybe he does not genuinely want to become the president of Nigeria as alleged by VDM. Maybe this is more about clout, social media relevance, and maintaining the image needed to attract funding from international organizations that support activism.
My support may mean nothing to him or his movement, but I know that, in due course, some people somewhere will begin to see what I am seeing.
Is this the Nigeria Sowore wants?
When the same system he criticized for not working finally attempts to work, he turns around and calls it victimization? No be juju be that?
Maybe he thinks everyone who follows him is either dumb or belongs to a generation whose memory can easily be rewritten. But some of us know the story. We know how he started, what he did during the military era, how he left the country, how Sahara Reporters began, and the role Sahara Reporters played in the political atmosphere that helped bring APC into power.
Though some of his fights for justice have been a valid one. But recently, he has drifted into actions and positions that have damaged the image he believes he still has. The little votes he gathered in 2023 may likely be reduced even further, just as his 2019 numbers dropped in 2023.
Sowore can still retrace his steps and correct himself. This is advice from someone who was once one of his diehard followers, but who is now an ex-supporter.
For now, nobody should introduce any bootlicking party to me. APC = PDP = LP = ADC. To me, they are all the same.
The only party I belong to now is the Party of the Masses.
