Fayose speaks on PDP Leadership crisis, way forward.

The governor of Ekiti state andchairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Ayodele Fayose, yesterday spoke on the crisis facing the party and the way forward.

Governor Fayose who briefed journalists after the PDP Governors Forum meeting in Abuja noted that the position of the party is above individual’s position.

Below is the transcript of the press briefing:

Journalists: You and Governor Wike threatened to dump PDP if the Supreme Court decision does not go your way. Has the situation changed?

Fayose: You see, what’s important is that as individuals, we are still loyal to this party. Whatever statement, whatever position we have taken before this meeting is still our personal decision, personal statement. But look at all the governors standing here, wherever the party goes, we go.

Journalists: So, whatever the decision of the court is will be acceptable for you?

Fayose: Like I said, the party is more important than all of us and we believe in this party. We believe the tomorrow of this party will be great and we are going to stand by this party till the end.

Journalists: What’s the relationship between this meeting and the NWC led by Senator Ali Sheriff?

Fayose: You see, this party is beyond everybody, whether Sheriff, Makarfi or Fayose. We are saying again that we all believe in this party. We believe in the tomorrow of this party and we believe that this party will come together united for victory in 2019.
