HOW I INSPIRED INTEREST FOR BIBLE STUDY IN A TODDLER | Jennifer Edima

( My Baby-sitting experience πŸ˜„)

Mandy (4 years) finally stumbled on the Bible I refused to hide.
_
Just like a toddler her age,who has observed that people around her read Bibles, she quickly brought it for me to read.
_
As she handed it over to me,in a split second I had surfed through the Bible in my mind, also trying to find the exact place to read that tackles my observation about the sweet toddler left in my care for some days.
_
She was always scared of walking within the house alone.

Can you guess what dropped in my heart?

Our very own David and Goliath story in 1 Samuel 17!!

You can trust how intriguing and fun it was πŸ˜‹that kept my sweetheart glued to me alongside Soti (2 years), watching every demonstration and expression I made..

...oh it was fuunnnn!!!

‼️Here are helpful ways to stimulate their interest
☑️ Intentionally study your Bible in their presence no matter how young. They first need to understand what Bibles are for right?

☑️ As they keep observing, you can easily discern when to intentionally keep one within their reach.

☑️ Seize every opportunity to read and teach them in very creative ways from scripture.

☑️ Ensure you point directly at the letters and avoid telling too much stories from your personal thoughts. The goal should be for them to know those interesting stories are directly from the Bible!

☑️ Please don't bore those cuties πŸ™„. Your expression, body language, demonstration should keep their eyes glued to you especially at that age.

☑️ Don't tell everything at once! You can stop at a very intriguing point and promise them to continue πŸ˜„. (Mandy kept reminding me that we hadn't completed our story. We sure took days to finish that particular one πŸ˜‰.)

☑️ Always engage them and ask simple questions in between, especially relating to the aspect you want to build in them.

☑️ Excerpts from scripture as bedtime stories are top notch 😎 (I can recommend and deliver very helpful books)

Mandy now knows there's nothing to be afraid of, when God is always with herπŸ€—. She started demonstrating it gradually and there's been so much improvement 😊.

I hope you found my experience helpful?
If you know other ways, feel free to share😁.
