It's another beautiful day. I bring you my LEADERSHIP thoughts for today.
About a month ago My family had to relocate from Ashford in Kent to Hove in East Sussex, and we had to look for a new place of worship. My wife discovered a Church close to our house called The New Liffe Christian Church Hove.
We attended service there yesterday and it was quite a small Church and after the worship the Pastor, a young man likely in his early or mid thirties walked up to preach. His emphasis was on us cultivating the fruits of the Holy Spirit. He spoke from Galatians 5:22-23. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law".
They have been running a series on the fruits of the Holy Spirit. He picked on GENTLENESS. Honestly I have never heard a message on GENTLENESS before. He said it is part of God's nature, that God is so Gentle in his dealings with us and that we ought to be gentle. He continued further by saying that it is God's GENTLENESS that opens us up to receive all that he has for us. His GENTLENESS makes us to be at peace and He communicates His love to us through His GENTLENESS.
He said that GENTLENESS is not weakness but STRENGTH/POWER under CONTROL. God doesn't barter us into repentance, it is His goodness that leads into repentance. The Holy Spirit is not harsh towards us, He speaks Gently to us. It was so POWERFUL. He closed by admonishing us to display the fruits of the Spirit as Christians in the work place, school at home etc where we face the pressures of life because this is were the true test of christianity is and not in Church.
He closed with this quote " The most POWERFUL way you can change, impact or influence your world or people around you is not by preaching or through your gifts but through THE LIFE YOU LIVE.
Always remember
Be more concerned with your CHARACTER than your REPUTATION, because your CHARACTER is what you really are, while your REPUTATION is merely what others think you are. ...Some of us are more concerned with our REPUTATION than our CHARACTER. ...CHARACTER is like a tree and REPUTATION like a shadow......Anonymous
Have a blessed week.
