MISCONCEPTION in fish farming.

MISCONCEPTION in fishfarming which is fish performance (growth rate).

Most think, because a fish stayed longtime that it should do well not realising that quantity of good  feed given determines performance and in so doing the  term fish as being BAD.

This then prompts them to jump from one feed shop to the other looking for d "good specie" From one farm to the other looking for the  "good specie"
Now many are now hatching so as to get the good specie. 🤣🤣🤣

I keep laughing n laughing because inexperienced attitudes is spoiling your business.

This where every farmer now tells you that his fish is the best and starts degrading others and some will even give you runts or post fingerlings in the name of fingerlings just to spoil others market but

Dear Brothere's and sisters, you are ONLY spoiling yourself and nothing else. Take example:
Rather than using time to assess the performance of stock, in my opinion we should use  quantity of feed fed and conversion efficiency. Let me explain myself.

If A stocked 1000 and got 1000kg in 3 months (1kg per fish) using 1200kg  of feed and

B stocked 1000 and got 800kg in 3 months (800g per fish) using 800kg of fish.

Can farmer A say his stock performed better? NO.

Time is relative but the bottom line is which farmer has a better efficiency and profitability. It is farmer B.

So when people are hyping size of produce, also let us have the FCR to enable one put the performance in the right perspective.

#FISHFARMING IS NOT BY MOUTH

Finally different feeds have different performance. The harsh truth is the cheaper a feed is the longer it takes for fish to do well especially if you give such feeds too early.

Such are only good as finisher and length of usage of each feed at different sizes affects seriously.

Thanks and n open to question if any??
