Arm robbery Syndicate arrested in Imo State



 In the cause of renewed onslaught and adoption of new strategies to stem the tide of crime and criminality in Imo State, luck has run against a four-man armed robbery syndicate operating with a Blue colour Volks wagon Passat vehicle who specialize in robbing petrol stations and snatching of cars in Ahiazu Mbaise/Obowo/Etiti environs of the State.

On 6/7/2016, a victim from Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A. was robbed on gun point of his Toyota Avalon Ash colour saloon car with Reg. No. FJ-609-KRD at MM Maris Petrol Station at Aguneze in Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A.. Operatives of the Command quickly swung into action and cobwebbed the exit routes. Three of the notorious suspects fell into the Police cobweb with the stolen vehicle while one escaped with their arms. The three suspects were however arrested at Obowo Malasia market en route Umuahia Abia State as effort is been intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect. The suspects arrested include:
1. Chibuike Oko ‘m’ 27yrs of age from Ngodo Afikpo North L.G.A Ebonyi State
2. Uchenna Kalu ‘m’ 32 yrs of Ihungwu Amankelu Igbere Bende L.G.A of Abia State
3. Ifeanyi Emenike ‘m’ 28yrs of Umuobutu Umuahia South L.G.A of Abia State.
Suspects have been identified by the victim of the Toyota Avalon and have made useful statements confessing to the crime. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include: -
(i) One Blue coloured Volks wagon Passat vehicle
(ii) Cash sum of 282, 000 allegedly robbed from victims.
