Many are busy talking about "Tomato Ebola". Do you know that their was massive pestilence that has affected grain crop yield throughout the country ? From East, West, North and South the story are the same. Pest have eaten up people's maize and likely to affect the seasons maize yield.
And yet, the Ministry of Agriculture have said nothing about it. Agric professionals seem to be at the gates of Banks and cooperate bodies seeking employment and other things. No enlightenment, No education, No assistance as to what the farmers needed to do to fight this pest. They News media didn't notice the crisis. Rather busy reporting what never add value to the society,
Whatelse can government do for citizens? Is it only about road, buildings, bore hole, transformer?
What is food security ?
Have there be no plan yet to tackle this femine rising up in the country.
The favourable corn boom may not happen this season. Grain food which used to be a staple food for the poor gradually becoming a luxury this year. Many poor rural families are threatened with food shortage arising from the disappointment from Corn pestilence. This is no good news in view of the current economic hardship ravaging the Nation.
Our Government seem not interested because is not oil and the will not have to handle it personally. All I can see is one-sided economy plan if not taken care this administration will run its activities on borrowing
Who will help the poor rural dwellers and farmers ?
