Obinna is a pan-African social entrepreneur who is committed to creating value and building human capacity. October 2011, he launched Exposure Robotics Academy – one of Nigeria’s first high-profile STEM education programmes – in Lagos, Nigeria and Makers Robotics Academy Rwanda, a comprehensive engineering bootcamp designed to thrust young boys and girls in the world of technology development for problem solving first in partnership with Bank of Kigali.
Obinna is also the Founder & CEO of BrĂ¼k Oil Mills, a palm oil processing company in Nigeria where he currently oversees factory development and leads plantation development efforts.
Born and raised in the United States, Obinna moved to Nigeria to pursue entrepreneurial and social impact ambitions. He holds a degree in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Obinna Ukwuani will lead the Bank’s Digital Factory Division for product innovation and development in Digital Banking, a role he has been working on since June.
He was Former Paystack executive, will replacing Regis Rugemanshuro on the new role at the country’s apex bank.
Part of the fintech products from the division, there is also a digital wallet called Ikofi.
Through the wallet, the Bank of Kigali offers financial services that target Rwandan farmers, agro-dealers, Agri-businesses and other stakeholders in the country’s agricultural ecosystem.
