A federal legislator, Hon Henry Udochukwu Nwawuba has thrown the full weight of his office and personality to the campaign of protecting the Nigerian girl child from all manner of abuses and inhuman treatments .
At a function in Abuja, the nation's capital, Hon Nwawuba who represents Mbaitoli /Ikeduru federal constituency of Imo State in the house of Representatives commended Save the child Foundation for it committed efforts in making calls for the Nigerian children, especially the girl child.
He pointed out that committed efforts are required from relevant Government Agencies and Non Governmental Organizations towards bringing to an end all acts that expose the girl child to molestations. The politician who is of the people's Democratic Party, PDP, persuasion promised that he would support legislative proposals which would brighten the future of the Nigerian children.
Hon Nwawuba averred that children need to be encouraged to abandon hawking , other discouraging acts and embrace education which he singled out as lasting human empowerment.
